Palau's top diplomats overseas briefed the national leadership on their respective priority issues while on island for the independence day festivities. President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr, was joined by the OEK members, ministers and traditional leaders for an opportunity to meet and hear directly from the ambassadors. Ambassadors Hersey Kyota — United States, Francis Matsutaro — Japan, Dilmei Olkeriil — Taiwan, Ngedikes Olai Uludong — United Nations and Palau's Consul Generals Vic April — Guam and Eileen Kintol — CNMI, reported to the national leadership.

According to Presidential Press Secretary Olkeriil Kazuo, among the issues shared by the diplomats were on Palau's treaty obligations, bilateral, opportunities and challenges. The report by the ambassadors is expected to be an annual event with the intention of identifying steps forward on priority issues and as a way to improve communications with the respective Palau's foreign missions.
