It was rumored a month ago but it is now confirmed that a
fourth candidate has jumped in the ring of the November 9, 2017 election for is Isaac Soaladaob who will join
incumbent Isaac Bai, incumbent Speaker, Benjamin Iskawa and Choll’s Kodep John
Mengidab. A former Ngaraard legislator of the 5th Palau District
Legislature in his 20’s, Soaladaob is a well-educated man with Master’s Degree
in public administration from the University of Guam. He served for a long time
as foreign affairs official and ascended to and retired as Director of Foreign Affairs in the Ministry of State. He returned to government service when he was
appointed as Chief of Staff of President Johnson Toribiong from 2009 to 2012. He
is holding the 5th traditional title of Ngirairung of the Klobak of
Ulimang Country of Ngaraard State. He will
announce his programs for governor. He will be most educated among the four
candidates.
