Four members of the Senate and the House of Delegates were among the hundreds of lawmakers from countries of Asia-Pacific who attended the 47th Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians Union (APPU) held in Oita, Japan from from September 18 to 20 in Oita, Japan.
They are Senate VP Mark Rudimch, Foreign Affairs chairman Aric Nakamura, Vice Speaker Lucio Ngiraiwet and Del. Yutaka Gibbons, Jr. One member said the assembly was held in an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation and as result, 11 resolutions adopted mainly to support cooperation and exchanges between APPU countries and for better understanding and acceptance of cultural diversities for improved development of local tourism attractions activities. Palau became a member of APPU in 1982 during the first OEK was still self-governing entity under the US Trust Territory .
